I guess manyfishermen think the fish don't bite in the Winter as there have been days whenI have not seen another boat on the Lake, and most days it's a maximum of twoor three folks fishing. Like I've mentioned before, it's like having your ownprivate 45,000 acre pond when you fish on RC this time of the year! There'sno secret to what we're doing to catch all the Winter Catfish you could want.Just head up the Richland Creek Arm of the Lake, find where the Commorants areroosting, and fish the heavy timber. (If you have never done this before, youwill have to be on the Lake at Daybreak to find the roosts as the Commorantsleave them in early AM) Some fishermen use Shad, some cut bait and others usePunch Bait. We catch ALL our fish on Danny Kings Blood Punch Bait on a #4Treble Hook. Most days the fish will be at or near the bottom and it'ssometimes a "light bite". When in doubt, set the hook!!!
It won't be longbefore we're chasing the White Bass and Hybrids, but for the near future we'llcontinue to catch these fast biting, hard pulling and good eating Catfish! Ifthis sounds interesting to you, give us a call and We'll Go Catchin'!
