| Bass fishing is good. The bass are in all 3 stages of the spawn right now and fishing is starting to get really good. There are several different ways to catch bass right now. For spawning fish, look on the main lake bars in between the creek and the Flint River. Use a good pair polarized glasses and search for bedding fish. While searching, you can swim a Big Bite Baits 6 Kriet Tail worm in green pumpkin with a 3/16 ounce Tungsten. When you locate a bedding bass, keep your distance and then opt for a Big Bite Baits Real Deal Craw in watermelon red with a 1/4 ounce Tungsten. Use Sunline 20 lb. FC Sniper fluorocarbon for both techniques. For post spawn and pre spawn fish look for staging areas that are close to spawning grounds. The best places are the ones that grass is still below the surface and not topped out. The new technology from Lowrance Electronics really allows you to find these areas on your graph. Use two baits for this technique that work awesome are a Buddha Bait Co Swagger Jig in either Sexy Shad or Green Pumpkin and a Jenko Fishing CD Squared Square bill Crankbait in Gizzard Shad. Both can be fished on a Buddha Bait Co Buddha Stick 7'3 Medium Heavy Moderate Action Rod with a Lews Magnesium Reel in 6:8:1 gear ratio on 16 pound test Sunline FC Sniper fluorocarbon.
