LAKE ALLATOONA IS DOWN 2.1 FEET, 60’S & CLEAR

Bass fishing has been great. The past few weeks we have big numbers of bass. You can catch fish on just about any bait in your box. Fish are pre spawn and spawning currently. Most bass have made their way shallow. Pocket and secondary points are best to target for better size right now. Scroungers, jerk bait and chatters baits are working great. Windy and sunny days have been the most productive. There has been a good jig head bite as well. The big bite 6 and 8 inch finesse worm’s fish on rocky outcrops leading into spawning pocket are the most productive. The water temperatures at the end of March were up but may drop a few degrees after the storms and cool front. Largemouth are spawning now and spotted bass will follow shortly after. Make sure you keep a Spro Dog, a spy bait or a soft plastic jerk bait on hand if these fish surface. This is the best time on Allatoona in my opinion. This a good time to take the kids.
