CLARKS HILL IS DOWN 7.5 FEET, 70’s

Bass fishing is fair. The Carolina rig with an 18 inch leader works best lake wide but better up the lake. These fish are deep and tight in structure up and down lake. If you fish shallow, the fishing will be tough. Only the small bass are shallow and they will drive you crazy biting at baits and not taking them. Pop R’s, Zara Spooks and the Spittin Image in the shad colors work and cast them right on the bank. Both the largemouth and spots will take this bait. Fish shallow and fish fast as the fish are feeding before the sun hits the water. Have a Zoom Super Fluke ready for any surface feeding as the herring are ready to go shallow with the full moon. Points, humps and hard clay banks are best. Around the main lake rocky points, keep a small all silver top water bait ready for any surface feeding.
