WEST POINT LAKE IS DOWN 6.7 FEET, 60’S


Bass fishing is fair. Start the day with the smaller baits like Shad Raps and Bandit crank baits and use light line so the baits dive a little deeper. The smaller baits will catch more fish and a slow moving larger bait will entice a strike from the larger bass. Use 10 pound Sufix Elite clear line and run the crank baits on and around any wood or on points with big rocks. Jerk baits and Zoom Super Flukes on the points in the creeks has been fair. Some bass have moved into the very backs of the creeks. Bait is the key and if there are bait schools in the area the bass are close by. Bait is critical. Find the channel ledges on the main lake and this is the Carolina rig area. Fish the wood with jigs and small worms along the ledges with jerk baits. Jerk baits like the McStick can work almost all day and change colors of these lures as the day progresses and get brighter.
