Now available for sale 50 of proven GPS waypoints for off shore structure for Bass and Crappie fishing on Weiss Lake, Alabama. For more info contact Ken Sturdivant at [email protected].

Bass fishing is fair and most have moved to deeper water to their winter pattern, Drop shot rigs, Alabama rigs, jigs and Carolina rigs are catching fish. Some bass are being caught on deeper rip rap rock banks on spinner baits and crank baits. The spotted bass are biting in the upper parts of Little River and the Chattooga River. Use the 200 kHz and the 455 Down beams and this Down beam is much wider and a lot more powerful. You can see the bass on the bottom, so drop the bait to them. A drop shot rig can work but be sure to keep the line tight so the baits hang out over the brush so the fish can see it. Any warm water you can find can have active bass. They still have to eat.

Crappie fishing is good and they are biting good long line trolling with Jiffy Jigs in Tabs cove and Little River and the Chattooga River. Some fish are still being caught on the main Coosa river channel, Spider rigging with minnows. Some Crappie are being caught in the power house area of the lake.
