I don’t think there is any doubt Guntersville is recovering from the 4 or 5 down years and all indications I can see tell me we are back on the up swing as the lake is producing with some of the best consistency in many years. It’s never easy because of fishing pressure but finding fish and getting bites has improved drastically as we are having a banner year despite the ever-changing weather we are seeing. Sure, you still got to catch them and know what they want and where to go but it’s as good as I have seen it in many years.




You can sum up the bait selection to just a few baits, Tight-Line swim jigs, football jigs, Picasso Shock Waves and SPRO Aruka shad rattle baits. Fishing in less than 6 ft. of water looking for cover has been the key to finding the fish. The other important aspect is making you bait cause a reaction, change your retrieve until you find one that works.
