LAKE ALLATOONA IS FULL, 70’S, CLEAR


Bass fishing is good. The fish are moving into their deeper summer patterns with some consistency now. Seems the thermocline has sunk down to about 15 to 20 feet range according to my temp probe. So concentrate on those depths on the main lake. The areas that are producing best are main lake humps and points that are near deeper water. The fish are relating to the temperature differences of the shade. The fish are gouging themselves on 2 to 3 inch threadfin so match the hatch as best as possible. Lots of my fish are coming on a drop shot rig. Take a shad colored 4 inch Yamamoto Cutail worm and cut the head down to 3 inches and get it down to the 15 to 20 foot range shake it with a 1/4 ounce weight on the tag end. Use 10 pound fluorocarbon line and medium light action rod. Use a Sammy and a Flashminnow 95. A few anglers are fishing a night on points with a black 1/2ounce all black single blade spinner bait and a red and black Bill Norman DD22.
