Bass fishing is fair. Shallow water anglers are catching fish in and around shallow grass on top water and flipping baits. The shallow ledge bite continues to produce as well with bigger Rapala Shad Raps crank baits and Carolina rigs. Shad is the key for any fast baits so the Lowrance Structure Scan technology can see this food source. There is plenty of food for the fish to eat. Bass fishing is hit or miss and most of the fish have scattered out. Early mornings and late evenings are still prime times it's just a matter of catching the fish up feeding. Crank baits and soft plastics are doing well during these times, but when the fish get moody you really have to get in the cover to get bit. The fish are relating to shallow river ledges and they are biting crank baits. A Rapala DT10 and the 1 ounce spinnerbait has been working but cover the grass edges and keep moving. The fish didn't seem to want to feed much and keeping the bait in and around cover is critical as they are not following the baits out.
