As is normally the case in the fall sizing up the bait fish that the bass are feeding on is key to catching fish; with that said if you were sized right you caught the fish, if you weren’t it was tough. Selection was key and those who found it caught them and those that didn’t struggled.


The problem was sizing was just part of the answer the other was speed of your baits, if your retrieve was too slow, or too fast your bait seemed to be in the wrong pattern. We fished several different baits with size being the issue for all of them, Picasso Spinner baits, Missile Bait “48” stick baits and Tight-Line swim jigs. We mainly fished from 10 ft. of water in and found fish most of the days on the water if we managed the keys properly.
