It's Springtime in Texas and we experienced a little bit of every Weather Pattern last week on RC! The week started off with a Cold Front just exiting the area and leaving behind brisk North Winds and Cold Temperatures on Monday. So our first day on the Lake was Tuesday and from there we managed to fish everyday until today when the Rain & Thunderstorm forecast for the Weekend forced us to cancel our trips. The days are still chilly in the AM but warming nicely in the midday period. Seems like almost everyday we deal with a little wind, some fog on some mornings and conditions that certainly aren't perfect but normally fishable. Sandwiched in the middle of some of the days just described will be the PERFECT SPRING DAY with a light breeze, sunny morning and pleasant temps!




We fished for White Bass and Hybrids each outing and did OK. We did have 50 fish limits a couple of the days, but had to really show some patience, do a little "hunting versus fishing" each trip and catch fish that were just not as aggressive as you might want. I believe the continued weather changes and cooler than normal water temperatures are holding us back a bit. I'll predict that the action will break wide open in the next few days as we move deeper into Spring. We caught all our fish on RSR 1 oz. Chartruese or Silver Slabs and fished the bait verrrrry slow along the bottom. The bite is often very soft and not easily detected. I tell folks that when in doubt, SET THE HOOK! 😉




Adam and I are booked for the entire month of April, but still have some Weekdays in May we need to fill.
