I am not sure when the voting ends, but once it does, we will then need to open up a voting on when.
Also, after talking with Jim D., I'm going to try to help organize getting folks to bring grub.
Normally is is pot luck. The first year and possibly last year too, there was a fish fry. One of the regulars would bring striper meat and that was part of the food. Also Jim had some wild hog meat he brought, but has said he is out of that.
The tournament is really more of an after-thought. The whole idea is to get as many of us together as possible to add faces to our opinionated posts...LOL If I remember right, the cost to enter the tournament is usually very inexpensive, something like $15?? The tournament is always scheduled to end relatively early, around 1:00 Pm to 2:00 PM central time. This is to allow plenty of time for the cook out and eating... and those that know me realize the eating is very important to me.
I've got one of those "round" type charcoal grills, and maybe someone else can bring one too. We can get some hotdogs and some burger patties, and we should be able to pull this off pretty well.
One year I hurt my back, one year I got stuck out of town for work, but this year, there should not be any work in the way unless something changes soon. I really want to be there this year. If we can get a good enough turn out, then we can really start to consider putting together the three seperate locations for the future, and I'd still like to see a fishin.com circuit.
Just think, if we started a circuit, and say we paid back 80%, we might be able to create a small cash stream for the site to help improve the software and services offered.
What do you guys think? Are there too many trails now to have a fishin.com trail?
Danny
It looks like the voting has slowed down somewhat, I say we end the voting this Friday night at say 9PM.
The votes will be counted over the weekend and the winner announced.
The format will be a BIG Bass Tournament and the Entry fee will be $10 per person. Everyone is competing against each other.
Will pay 1 place for every 4 boats with Trophies going to the first 3 places, my treat again.
After a date is set, Danny will be asking for volunteers to donate burgers, hot dogs,chips...etc.
We really have a good time at this Event and you should try and attend. Bring the family too, this isn't just for those wishing to compete in the Tournament, it's for everyone that uses Fishin.com and their families.
Tony,
If Jim D. isn't able to make the tournament, and if I can't find someone who will be willing to help stake out the pavillion area, I may have to skip the tournament to hold the pavillion. I think this year's get together could be the best ever.
Remember though, if I am fishing, you have a seat in my boat. I'm looking forward to meeting more of the folks that visit here.
