Re: Need a better jighead
Are you talking about the Owner stand-up jig that leaves the hook exposed when you rig it? It has a good hook, but I like ones that let you rig them more like a t-rig. A few that I like are spot-stalkers,gopher tackle mushroom head, and jewel baits fin-nesse jig.
Re: Need a better jighead
Slongs makes the best jig head I have found. They are somewhat hard to find, unless you are in the LBL area, but by far the best I have used (both standard jig heads and shakey heads) with a EWG hook. You may be able to order some from The Cabin or Fisherman's Headquarters if you call and talk to them.
Re: Need a better jighead
Try the Chomper stand up head. They make them in black and brown and they come is 1/8 oz and 1/4 oz. I've caught tons using this head.

:) I second that!!! Sean Long and his company make a great stand up jig head that I use every time I am on the water now... He is very flexible in size and make of all of his shakey heads and will do just about any color you could ask for... Very quality tackle and it last a long time until you lose one!! you can check out his site but it is under construction www.slongsfishinglures.com hope this helps...

Also try the spot removers by Buckeye Lures. they come 3/16 to 1/4 and 5/16 and in black, brown and green pumpkin. They have quality hooks and I catch the majority of my fish on these.
