Hey , First i want to say the eastern Ky fishing team did great on Ky lake. I saw the show on versus today ! BUT!!!! I wonder why the same two guys are always shown . The winning weight was from 2 boats and involved 4 fishermen . Funny how the same guy always ends up in front of the camera bragging about how he slayed them. They had 85 plus lbs for 2 days so I know he didn't catch that weight. Or I mean one boat didn't. Kid is a good fisherman but give all involved credit where it is due.
The tournament you are referring to is the collegiate bass open from last year, 2010. EKU only sent one boat to this tournament. With this format, a team consists of UP TO 3 boats. That means a school could send 1, 2, or 3 boats. For the teams that only sent 1 boat, their weight was doubled each day. For the teams that sent 2 boats, their weights were combined. For teams that sent 3 boats, the two largest weights were added. So what I am getting at is that EKU only caught 42.5 pounds in these two days. Although that is a great amount of fish for two days, the 85 pounds that you are seeing is not actually 85 pounds. Hope this clears it up.
On a side note, the two guys that did go down there for them last year are extremely good fisherman. They are dominating college fishing right now.
By the way, the 2011 collegiate bass fishing series will start Sunday July 31 on versus. The tv series will air sundays at 2:00 p.m. and tuesdays at 12:00 p.m. until September 25th. I am sad to say this was my last year fishing it.
