IN Resident Hunting/Fishing License Info

Charlie, I also am not near any of the big lakes, nearest one is Monroe, 1.5 hours away. But I go and use the lakes in my state. The lake sticker is certainly not "fair" for everyone but what on earth is... No need to complain about everything on God's great earth, everything is more expensive and it's not getting any better. My suggestion to you is just stay home and save all that money, let us other idiots go out and pay for gas, hotels, campsites, we will take care of the areas for you.... so when you go once a year they will be clean and ready for you.

Well there is no need to be a smart arse about it , some of us dont have much extra $$ to give to the state . I still say that a lanuch fee for kayaks and canoes is too much . As fisherman and hunters we already pay an extra tax on most outdoor items and most launch ramps where paid for with tax dollars . Here in Evansville it costs five dollars to launch in the Ohio on tax paid ramps , if they wanted to make major $$ why not have all boats in the river have stickers ? There are LOTS of marinas up and down the Ohio - lots more than at Patoka and Monroe . So please give us a break .

Good to hear this. I was looking at the plans that don't involve a contract. Maybe that's why it's 50 or 70 a month for so few minutes. There is no long term commitment in these type of plans.

I was thinking about the Verizon Wireless EasyPay Plans

For $50/month they give me:

Unlimited IN calling mobile to mobile calls with other Verizon customers within my calling district, (whatever that is defined as)

3000 Night and Weekend Minutes.

Up to 350 Anytime Minutes.

10 Cents text messaging and 25 Cents PIX & FLIX Messaging.

Domestic Long Distance Included

Mobile Web for 99 cents per day of use. 24 hour period. I guess that means I can use the web service for $1 for 24 hours period of time? Not sure if they charge me minutes for using that or not. That would definitely make a big difference if they did.

This all comes with Voice Mail, 411 connect, Verizon Wireless Minute Meter and Calling features such as Caller ID , Call Waiting, 3 way calling and call forwarding.

This plan is for $50 a month for all the above services.

For $70/month they give me all the above plus up to 700 minutes of monthly anytime minutes instead of the 350 minutes for the 50 dollar plan.

So the $50 plan is the cheapest I can find that is without a contract.

Right now I am just buying $30 worth of minutes at a time and they charge me $1 a day whether I make any calls that day or not. I think that hard but they give me the free Verizon to Verizon IN calling service with the pay as you go plan. I simple use the credit card to buy more airtime when I get low. But this is starting to cost me more than I thought it would

It would be nice if the free nighttime minutes started earlier. They don't start until 9:01 PM. If I am calling up to Northern parts of IN they are an hour ahead of my time so it's 10:01 pm their time. I don't want to call anyone that late. Now when I was younger I was up all night long and so were my friends. But at 56 year old most of the people my age are in bed by 9 pm LOL.

I am thinking about just dropping my AT&T phone account and going totally cellular. I was paying about 38 a month for regular phone service to get caller ID, automatic call back and those other options on the AT&T Personal Choice plan. I cancelled that AT&T plan today and will be going back to the bacic phone plan that's only about $20 a month. If I drop the basic plan I could save another 20 a month and still have the Cell phone. The convience of having a mobile phone may be worth the extra costs.

If I find that I really will keep my cell phone then I would consider going with the contract in the fugture. Sound like the contract idea is much cheaper than the Easypay plan that I am looking at right now


I do know one thing. So far my Verizon service ( no dropped calls) has been pretty good. Even up at Patoka Lake I was able to make calls when the Cingular guys could not. It was probably because I was closer to the Verizon cell phone tower than the cingular guy was to his tower. In another location it may not have been the same way.

Sorry, not trying to be a smart arse about this. It's just the people that get on here and say I'm not going to pay this or that because it is too expensive, THEN STAY HOME....... Sounds like you need to go to a DNR meeting in your area and ask that question about all boats having stickers. Thats a good question.
