McCain still thinks the econmy is "fundamentally strong" said so yesterday, so that right there should be enough to discredit anything he has to say about economics. By using the word fundamentally he thinks some if not most of what is in place now is working. Wrong
It is going to have to be fixed from the ground up and McCains plain is to patch it.
Like Col Forbin said I don't know that Obama's plan is a fix all solution but some change is needed or should atleast be given a chance.

On Tuesday, he told CNN's "American Morning" that he meant American workers are "the fundamental strength" of the U.S. economy and that the country will rebound with their help.
"What I obviously was saying, and I believe, is the American workers, the most productive and the most innovative -- they are the fundamentals of our economy and the strength of it and the reason why we will rebound," he said.

He also said that reckless conduct on wallstreet is largely to blame for America's economical woes, so i dont believe he is clueless to what is going on in the economy.. but he could have chosen his words better.

Of course he's going to try and fix what he said yesterday (said it twice at two different rallies) just like any poltican would that was catching flack over something they said.
I thought he was going to take a stand on the AIG bailout because he said no to it orginally but now supports it, which is basically protecting the reckless conduct on Wall Street and of companies.

Well now ain't this just the pot calling the kettle black...I believe Obama has made the same gaff during his interviews...Has said it twice now during an interview that he is muslim, er...I mean Christian is my religion....Been caught saying it, so we all are right in him being a Muslim....Period......

The only places I have heard this was on stuff that has been proven untrue on snopes.com. Just in emails and stuff that the unintelligent (I am in no way inferring that all conservatives are dumb, just a handfull) extreme right like to send to each other in order to avoid discussing or learning about real issues. Wait...remember he turned his back on the pledge too....and before we get into the religion discussion, I am going to go ahead and state; he does not eat babies.

What are you crying about? I said he was trying to fix it just like any poltician would. Whether you belive the orginal statement of the fixed version is you choice.

well surely he did not mean that the economy is fundamentally sound, period. Thats just what cnn wants you to believe. The man has been around the block a few times, and i think he knows enough about the economy to be my president. Do i think he can solve all our problems, no and i dont believe obama can either. But theres billions of people in the u.s. and someone will and all the president needs to do is be open minded and i think both canidates can do that. Its other issues that im worried about.

Give him a chance? First of all for the office of President of the United States I don't give chances to. Give him a chance you say. I don't give chances who openly are in relations with a cofessed terrorist who bombed the Pentagon, Police stations and Appartments in New York. A chance? man who stated in his book audacity of hope that he would stand with the Muslim people if the political world turned bad. He attended a church with a pastor who hates America for 20 years and expects me not to think Wright was not like that the times he attended. A man who's wife said she she has never been proud of her country. A man who recieved the third largest amount of lobby funds from Freddie Mac and Fannie May and the Left wants to blame McCain on that and you want me to give him a chance? A man whom admitted to George Stefonopalis that he was a Muslim before old George jumped in and corrected him (same people who flew those planes into the WTC, the Pentagon and that field in Shanksville Penn) and you want me to take a chance on that? A man who tried to barter with the Iraqi Govt to delay withdraw of our troops so if he won president he could do it when he had no legal right to negotiate for our country and you say give him a chance. Bud that's not a CHANCE I'm willing to take. I don't take chances on the future of my 2 children on a man who has absolutly never done one single thing to help our country. A man who voted 4 times in the Illinois state senate to end the life of a child if it came out alive from a botched abortion. As if abortion is not bad enough. Well it's MURDER but that could be a thread all its on. A man who is wanting to raise my taxes and take money out of my pocket and food off my families table and you say give him a chance? I could go on and on. If you want to take a chance buy you a raffle ticket at the county fair. The Bush philosophy of tax cuts for all to boost the economy has been proven to be a complete failure. Actually the last tax credits, put our economy in worse shape. Our Economy is crap. Spending billions on a weekly basis on the war (argue the wars purpose either way you want), while still planning to cut taxes does not make any sense. We either need a plan to withdraw from the war soon, or have a plan to generate more money from within our country. Or, if you want to see significant financial progress - why not do both.
I am not saying we are going to see miraculous results from Obama or complete devastation from McCain, however, on an economical side McCain does tend duplicate in theory what has been attempted and failed in the past.
McCain was once considered a "maverick" senator, often going against the grain, and I respect that. However, this was seen more often in the past than in the present. You can't spend that much time in Washington without devloping ties to special interest groups. Both sides have adopted the "change" philosophy for their campaign, and the reform is needed. I don't see McCain or Palin being near the catalyst for this reform as Obama. It just seems they are going to support conservative views at all cost. I hate to say it, Biden has made me sick hearing it - but with McCain we will be seeing more of the same.[/QUOTE]

I see that your not a fan of McCain. As far as flipflopping they both do that so that doesn't matter to me. Tax cuts are being claimed by Barry as well so why would you support him if thats bad for the economy?
Barry also claims of raising many types of taxes on the rich, thats a mistake and it will only hurt us all.

Maybe you should stop relying on Fox news for all your Obama info. Check out his website, he has a general outline of his plans. And yes, I have looked at and read through McCains website for information too.

Obama has no plans for a tax cut across the board. Raising the tax on the rich, may not be the plan that is going to please everyone, but during the Clinton administration it did wonders for our economy. If we haven't had such an excess of spending for the past 8 years, a tax cut across the board would benefit us all - we have to find a balance, and what McCain plans on doing is just as lopsided as.....well you know.
Barkley pup, McCain has just as many skeletons in his closet, but that is not what we were debating. I thank the American people and the Democracy we have for forcing our government to impose a higher standard of National securtiy. I just hate it that it took such a travesty to open our eyes. I don't think you can hold President Bush soley accountable for that. I can however, blame his mismanagement of american resources and our economy for the shape we are in now, where you have both parties shouting for change.
