bassking, i think you are kinda young right? You may not understand it now but someday, hopefully you will.
That being said there is plenty of places on this earth where you can't speak openly,i'm thankful i'm an american and can.
I'm thankful that the owners of this board realize this.
ps. It might suprise you just how many of these people share a boat often and are very close friends.

Re: politics (why)??????
Passion. Thats why I post. I am passionate about this great country. We have been blessed to be apart of the greatest country ever to exist on Earth. Because I love this great country so much, I am passionate about maintaining it's greatness. Passion, in my opinion, also blinds us to what our founders intended for us and also to the common sense idea of what is right and what is wrong. Some are passionate in the government going way beyond what was originally intended and some believe we have already gone way too far. Some believe that the government should take care of us and some think we should pull ourselves up by our own boot straps. Some believe that it is important to win wars at all costs to maintain our greatness and some believe we need to lose so that we can be knocked down a notch or two so the rest of the world will look at us differently. Some believe that even if a baby is born alive after a botched abortion, the wormans original decision supersedes that baby's right to life and some believe that the baby had rights at conception. I was told when I was very young that there would come a time when evil would be looked at as good, and good would be looked at as evil. People are passionate on both sides. I for one will not post anymore on this board because I've realized that its out of my hands anyway. My passion shouldn't be on what "man" can do because we fail. Every time you hear a politician promise you all kinds of things, you should run as far way from that guy as you can. I dont care which side wins, he will not be able to do what he says. I think our passion, at least mine, should be for the future administration that will not fail. I say, even so, come quickly.

Re: politics (why)??????
27 years young. i am a devoted republican and what im trying to say is there is nothing me , you or anyone else can do about who is running for president because theese days the job is bought with money it seems like and has been for a while or famous people and other role models endorse theese canidates, i dont discuss politics because no one has the same views that the next person does. arguing about who is right and who is wrong amount to nothing all you cqn do is go vote. every time a thread gets started it turns into a whine fest about he did this and he did that. i am very concerned for myselfand especialy my son who has to deal with this crisis when he gets my age. 750 billion dollars to bailout crooks, he will pay for that in the future. BO may actually get elected and possibly ruin our country with this free willed liberal crap. that will effect him in the long run and us as well. all i meant was discussing this topic does any of us no good and puts a barrier between us and the arguments start and people are angry with one another. all i meant was take a list to the polls tuesday and do the right thing and lets stick to talking about fishing. im sure they would get along but why possibly make enemies or have someone peeved at you because you openly discuss how big of an idiot BO or Mcain is? who cares, pay attention to the facts and go vote for the right man for the job. i understand politics and i am as american as any of you and i am very blessed with having a good life in this great country but there is no need in arguing about it because that is what goes in here when some of the stuff posted about both men running is not the TRUTH. i should have changed the name of this thread to quit arguing and go vote and hope for the best. also hope you are not questioning my devotion to my country because of all the places an this planet i would rather be here than anywhere else i was born in kentucky and i will probably never leave the United States for any reason because this is the place to be not some third world dictating country.
