Re: fishin & hunting ?
[QUOTE=smuckey41;345762]just ben thinking about some things about whats the diffrence between hunting and fishin. most of us are both fisherman and hunters, but what i dont under stand why people kill these animals. dont get me wrong i like deer meat and will eat it just cant kill one. but on the other hand most of us on here that fish are looking to manage and keep a good population of fish so we can go back and catch that fish again when it is bigger or if it is a trophy fish get a picture measurement and then put it back in the water. so if you want a trophy on the wall you can get a replica made of your catch so you have a trophy and you manage to keep a fish with good genes to reproduce. now if you kill a big buck or doe you have a trophy to go on the wall and you have meat to eat but what about the dear being able to reproduce so or kids can have a chance at a trophy buck or doe. like they do for fish. maybe for those who are out for the thrill of the trophy hunt could use some type of tranqualizer to knock the dear out for a couple hours so you can still get that thrill of the hunt and manage a good population of dear. now i know that people need to hunt to eat i understand. but if you can get by with out killing a dear to eat dont you think there can be a diffrent way then killing the dear.
like i said i dont hunt just wanted to see what you guys think about this or if anybody else fills the same about this that actualey hunt.
thanks

when I first started hunting in 1981 they estimated the Kentucky deer herd at 50,000. After 25 years of hunting, the Kentucky herd this year was estimated at over 1,000,000.
