As of today the Big East overall record is 57-5. Not a bad start, especially when you look at who some of the wins have been over.
LOL, Harangody and McAlarney are sick from deep range. McAlarney has shot 50% or better from three point range in three of their four games and he has only taken eight two point shots.
mhall, we will have to get together for a game this year. I can usually get basketball tickets from my friend for free as long as they are not playing one of the big boys. They are pretty good seats. Second row off the floor in the closed in end zone.
Sounds good brother.
Yep, been watching ND and they are very tough! It's gonna be exciting to watch this conference this year.
Doesn't really look like the SEC has got any real fire power this year.
A bit of a down year this year as expected in the SEC but hang in there it's gonna get better over the next few years. Alot of teams on the rise, Tenn, Ky, Florida to name a few. Conferences seem to go in cycles, you'll get the banner few years than some down turn for awhile. Kentucky has an incredible class coming next year with a big man from California that is a Kevin Garnett type player. 6'10'', can dribble down the lane with both hands. Short jump shot that's sweet, not just a dunker. Seen some clips of this kid and WOW. Suppose to be the number one prospect as a big coming in next year in the nation. Billy Clyde might be a Hooch Hound but he can recruit with the best of'em.
16 teams I wish they could cut it down to 12 it's almost like two conferences. Plus the schedules are unbalanced so an 11-5 team might not be as good as a 9-7. They are loaded but I hate to see teams like Seton Hall and St.John's at the bottom - teams that were once tradition rich have just got lost in the shuffle. The BigEast is definitely a megaconference.
Well, looks like thus far the conference is living up to the hype. Last night Notre Dame defeats Texas and Syracuse defeats the defending national champions Kansas. Tonight will be an entertaining game between North Carolina and Notre Dame. I think it will be close and competitive, but the Heels just have to much talent.
That Kansas vs Syracuse game was a great one for sure. Every time I thought Kansas had it wrapped up Syrcuse would come storming back. Serioulsy that game had more runs in it than the time I drank the water in Mexico. :)
I wouldn't be surprised if Notre Dame beat my Tar Heels tonight. Carolina is still a little banged up and while Hansbrough will play he's still not in game shape yet.
The Big East is looking very strong this year for sure and every conference game should be a dogfight to win.
I'm still a litle upset over Harris' foul on Zeller that caused him to break his wrist and thinned Carolinas frontcourt. While it wasn't a dirty play I still think it was somewhat reckless, so I'm hoping the Cards put a whoopin on the Cats when they meet.
