Re: Life time warranty rods
Hey Hlleonatd where did you buy the rod?
I got it at backwaters in lexington.....he said he would replace it but said there was a 15 dollar cost or something but it was on back order until june 26th...so I thought any dealer would stand behind the guarantee but (D i c k ' s sporting goods) said only if they sold it to me.....I even called shimano and they said the retailers made their own policy,so I'm just waiting it out.

I believe the $15 is to cover shipping the rod back to Shimano.

It could be.....Shimano told me I could ship it back to them directly but the back order thingy would be last of june before they could ship one back to me so same either way.Probably wouldn't matter what brand it was if the thing was back ordered....I was just pissed at the time.
Re: Life time warranty rods
A couple of years ago I broke one of my brother's St. Croix rods while saltwater fishing (idiot move, don't ask). All he had to do was ship it back and they replaced it. When he went to ship it, it was 2" too long for the box, so he just snapped off a couple more inches, and he put all three pieces in there when he shipped it in. They still replaced it, no questions asked. I have two of them now, and they're the best rods I've owned, not that that's saying a whole lot.
