#1 - Patoka usually fishing for bass and it can be feast or famine - we've got some property there not far from Walls Lake ramp and spend most of our weekends there.
#2 - Monroe but don't seem to get there as often after getting our place at Patoka . . .
#3 - Blue River - nothing better than catching a bronzeback in current with an ultralight pole fishing out of a innertube!

I like the strip pits. There are so many of them they don't get too much pressure; they 're perfect for me and my little Jon boat. The hawks, herons, and crystal clear spring water coupled with being in the middle of nowhere (most times) is sooooo relaxing. Besides, the bass are good size and ditto on the pan and catifish....:)
Patoka and Monroe are the biggest, so you can do alittle more. You can move around and "probably" find some fish.
My first would be bluegrass, great bass there and close to home. love throwing a big jig there, second would be Patoka,
Never ice fished, but I do also enjoy the sort of near by Summit Lake during the warm months. It is supposed to be a nice ice lake but I've never been there. During the summer it's perfect for my little Jon boat. I also enjoy wading the nearby Killbuck Creek. It feeds into the White River and winds through some beautiful countryside. In the Yorktown area there is a park where the White River is so shallow and clear area kids wade in it.
