Re: USA Bassin classic
I'll be there Thursday. My first Classic, and second trip to KY Lake. I am getting stoked to say the least. Just hope it's not windy because my 18' boat is not designed for ocean conditions!
To qualify for the regionals in USA Bassin, you have to earn 250 points and you get 50 points for just showing up and paying your entry fee. Not necessary to catch a keeper to get 50 points. To make the Classic, as was said earlier, you have to be in the top 40% in the Regionals.
Good luck to you guys and be safe!

Re: USA Bassin classic
Me and my partner are going down on Wednesday morning and staying at Kenbar Lodge. They give a discount for all members of USA Bassin. We are staying 5 nights and the total was only 220.00. they are the closest place to the launch and have ample parking and a continental breakfest as well that will come in handy early in the morning before the tourny. Maybe we caan hook up with some of you guys down there and sshare some info since none of us looks to have much experiance on tht lake.

Re: USA Bassin classic
I might give Kenbar Lodge a call. Super 8 had a discount as well but is a little more expensive it looks like. They quoted us at $150 for 3 nights. Goin' to call Kenbar right now.

Re: USA Bassin classic
I think thats the number of people that qualified. More than half wont make the trip. I think less than 100 have signed up so far. I'm not fishin it either, i wish. I Didnt fish enough tourneys with those guys last year to even qualifty for regionals. Maybe one day tho, Goodluck!
i really hope everyone that qualified shows up.If they don't that just knocks out a team that was close to qualifing that would have went maybe..there is a 2nd chance for us non qualifiers the following weekend just for entry fee payback..

Re: USA Bassin classic
500 boats did qualify....last year only about 250 fished it. The payouts depend on how many boats are in the divisional tourneys, the regionals pay a little better (my dad and I got 5th out of 150 at Patoka in IN and won $600), the pay-out schedule for the Classic is on the website...I'm sure you saw it.
I know the amount depends on the number of boats but I was looking for the breakdown. $600 for a fifth place finish out of a 150 boats with a $125 entry fee is low. What did 1st-4th get?

Re: USA Bassin classic
Pretty sure KenBar is full. We reserved our room at another hotel about a week ago because KenBar was totally booked.

Re: USA Bassin classic
We called to get 4 nights and they had all the nights open but 1. So I put my name down, she said they were having a lot of cancellations and there was a good chance I could get in there.

Re: USA Bassin classic
Thanks SweetwaterBaits, but we're gonna stay put and try to avoid the crowds as much as we can.

Re: USA Bassin classic
We reserved our rooms at KenBar last October after we qualified thru the regional touney. What regional did you guys fish in? We qualified in the Ohio river out of Big Bone. We will have to definately get together whe we are all down there so that we can put a few faces with the names on here. PM me and if you guys I will give you my cell number so that we can meet up down there.
