alright, guys. ron posted this link for cleaning and supertuning your reels. i found the simichrome at a local hardware store, but have a question. what do you soak the bearings in to remove all the dirt and grime? some say kerosene, some say lighter fluid. both make me nervous cause i'll probably catch myself on fire. any other ideas on what to clean everything with once the reel is disassembled. i did get a bottle of regular alcohol.

ALSO, i was looking around town for some yellow rocket fuel, but no luck. anyone know if a local place carries it?

Hey.........that is the link I used YEARS ago...........to learn how to clean curado reels.
I use lighter fluid to clean the bearings........

You as likely to light yourself on fire with regular alcohol as with lighter fluid. Might as well use theor recommended fluids since it is known to work.

i use carburetor cleaner for bearings only.
