Smile Cumberland / Laurel Lake Night Bite

I Know The Bite Is Tough Thru The Summer Months, But I Have A Couple Friends Who Have Hardly Ever Been Lake Fishing In Their Lives. Within The Next Week I Plan On Taking Them On A Night Trip, So To Make It Simple, I Plan On Using The Floating Lights For The Shad, Maybe This Can Make It A Little Easier, They Really Don't Care What They Catch, Just Fish Is Fine. Anybody Have Any Tips Or Ideas On How I Can Make This A Good Trip.....thanks.........I'm Not Very Experienced With This Still Fishing...(and The Lights) Any Tips Appreciated...........

Laurel has been pretty slow the past couple of weeks. Jig and rind have been producing a few decent smallmouth late evening/early morning. Guys stillfishing on the dock at night under lights say it's really slow. I can't help you on Cumberland. Tight Lines

My advise to you is to go to Cumberland right now. The fish have been biting pretty good there and if your really want them to catch a few that's the place to go.We have been catching fish in about 15 to 20 ft of water so focus on those areas. Laurel is really tough right now with maybe one or two bites a night. Also if your fishing under lights it may be a little hard to get shad up to catch. You might be better off to buy them at a bait store. Hopefully someone here can help you a little more.

Guys he said it didn't matter what they catch. Not everyone is bass fishing. Take them to laurel ,hang out your lights and use whole kernel corn. You should be able to catch some trout.
Or go to cumberland and use your lights they are catching a few stripers and walleye .

TROUT .............did you say TROUT LOL I had almost forgotten about those little pains in the ........well you know. JByrd is right though. If you interested head to down to laurel and fish around the dam with crawlers and corn and you should be able to catch plenty. Some real nice ones in there if you like to catch TROUT LOL

If you want to still fish come to Cland. I havent been since the weekend but we have been catching a lot of hybrids and stipers on shad. Havent had any problem getting shad either, they're usually up within 20 to 25 minutes. If you can keep the 10 to 12 inch stipers from running with your shad you'll have a good night. If you know anything about Wolf Creek, i fish straight across the water from Island Ramp. Hope this helps.

Never tried it but often thought about it. I bet it would be killer especially with the full moon coming up. Let me know how it works for you.
