    Bounty Fishing

I'd like to pass on some information I found about an online fishing tournament. There is a website called Bounty Fishing (www.bountyfishing.com) that hosts weekly fishing tournaments for different categories of fish. It does cost a little bit to enter, something like $7 for a day or $19 for the entire week. Fishermen send in high resolution pictures of their fish with a ruler and an ID number also in the picture. The person who catches the biggest fish wins $1000, the second biggest gets $200, and the third biggest gets $100.

The only category that I have a chance at is probably the panfish category. It covers bluegill, white and black crappie, and yellow perch. Some guy in California keeps winning that one each week with 12 and 13 inch perch. I've been trying (in vain I might add) to find some sizeable crappie, so I haven't entered the tournament yet.

Anyways, I think that the tournament is a neat idea, and they promote catch and release. Fishing for money is always more fun that fishing for free (or for food).

    I totally disagree.

That being said, I think it would be far too easy to cheat on this thing. Just look how commonplace cheating has become in regular fishing tournaments...

I am wondering about the honesty part also. How do you that guy is taking 20 pictures of the same fish and changing hois clothes and locationafter each picture? For a $1000, it would probably be worth the effort... for some people.

Each day that you fish in the tournament, you are issued a new code. You have to have that code displayed in the picture. They also use various computer forensics methods to determine the authenticity of the picture.
