Ended up getting the one at Sportsmans, and also a 100oz bladder. I think she's gonna be perfect, or at least i hope. If nothing else it will at least keep my baits high and dry and keep me hydrated with less hassle. thanks for all the input. after a test run this weekend i will let you all know how she held up.

I think that the guy I usually fish with bought the same one that you are describing. He loves it. I seems to work pretty well for him. I didn't want a chest pack so I bought the Field and Stream Lumber waist belt ($24.95) and just put some holes in the bottom of each pocket and it drains perfectly now. I may end up trying a chest pack next year.

I just bought a daypack backpack from Wally world. A whopping 10 dollars and it's gonna work great. Now maybe Billy won't ride my ass like a government mule the next time I show up to wade the creek. LOL.

Kelty fanny pack with holes slit in for drainage. Some line, a couple of buzz baits, and a Teeny Torpedo.

I don't understand the adversion to getting your tackle wet??????

    PS Creek Walkers:

What in your opinion are the most significant factor as to why some days are 30+ fish and some are ~10 dinks.

    Flow
    Temperature
    Moon Phase
    Time of Year
    Time of Day
    Weather conditions?

I've been fishing Elkhor for about 20 years and I can't really figure this one out. I used to do well a couple of days after a good rain, once its cleared up, but this does'nt hold true all the time.

I have a theory...All the Fish in Elkhorn are female so they are moody and unpredictable. It's completely impossible to figure them out.

I fish a lot of soft plastics, sometimes i get in such a hurry that i don't zip the bags shut all the way. water gets in there and if i don't remember stays in there until my next outing. Really after that they are never quit the same. i have also had a lot of lures get rusty and also ruined many cameras.

In my experiences, there really hasn't been a standard. i go out one abnormally cool july morning thinking I'm about to wear em out, and have one of the slowest days of the year. then i go out the next time real early and its burnin up- don't start getting a consistent bit until noon( 95ish degrees), still puzzles me. One evening it was real slow and then it started a pop up thunder storm way up the creek, they started going crazy. i have found that with the water below summer pool the fishing has been a little better. But really in that creek nothing suprises me anymore, you really never know what you are or arn't gonna get. i love it. Success or not, its such enjoyable fishing and scenery, imo you really can't beat the ol' creek.

The pack did great, i just now realize that i need to not take so much with me. Not used to having straps on my shoulders it really got heavy after a few hours. Other than that it is a great pack and I'm glad i went the route that i did. Thanks for all the input.
