Coxs park

Went out to Cox's park saturday morning. Fished two poles, one on the bottom with nightcrawlers, the other with a jig and a nightcrawler. Caught two largemouth bass, one about 10 inches, the other around 15. No hits on my catfish pole. Saw evidence of some big fish that were caught. On the shore was about a 8 pound catfish and a 10 pound carp. My question is this- Is Cox's park a safe place to fish at after dark? The park closes at 11pm, but I'd like to fish there from about 7-11. Anyone run into any trouble out there?

There have been others, too. I drive by there a lot on my way to and from Slugger Field for Bats games. As many times as I've seen cops back in there investigating something, I'd say it's a place worth avoiding after dark. There's also a campground of homeless in the woods just across River Road, by the railroad tracks.

David ,head across the river to the Falls of the Ohio...better fishing and just as far. Many cool spots ,you can get an overnight pass at the museum and the DNR are there most of the time.

It is as safe as any other place you will fish at night. I would go there and fish with out any problem. There is a police station across the street. Most of the cops that are there are investigating something. Kids drinking in the park or kids doing other things (something like fishing) or they are just relaxing between runs.

The last body that was found there was a suicide not a homicide.

I would fish there!

Chuck gave good advice. Be aware, that park attracts alot of bad people, Pervs especially. If I fished there at night by myself I would be packing my equalizer for sure.
