there were enough boats down there this past weekend that i am sure the water level went up..... lake is still in the high 70s low 80s.... not sure how much these cold evenings will drop the temps... any reports you get right now IMO would be useless..... the water is very clear mid-lake to the ****, more color the closer you get to wax and the river. I think it is a little slow right now, but should be getting better by the day.
dog creek was 75 last sat. Seen some shad in the back of creek, but only caught 13 to 14 inch fish on carolina rig in the very back.We finally went toward three fingers with about an hour left in tourn. We caught one keeper on worm on the main.there were enough boats down there this past weekend that i am sure the water level went up..... lake is still in the high 70s low 80s.... not sure how much these cold evenings will drop the temps... any reports you get right now IMO would be useless..... the water is very clear mid-lake to the ****, more color the closer you get to wax and the river. We had our classic down there last weekend. First place had 5.92# for 2 days, 2nd had 5.65#, and third had 5.01#. Big bass was 3.67#. Bite was very slow. Caught all my fish on tubes. Will be back down there next weekend for our last tournament of the year.
Thanks guys....keep me posted I'll be there in a couple weeks
Fished three days this week. Water temperature near Wax 73 degrees. Found most of my fish in the creeks, cuts, and bays. Tubes, Texas rigged and the Carolina rig with a creature bait worked best for me. Concentrate on the secondary points and humps in the creeks. Rapala DT10 was also productive. Main lake points were not very productive as most of the shad have moved to the creeks.
Thanks
