When i was at the clarksville ramp last weekend i was talking to some guys who said it was rough, thats why it was so crowded there at the clarksville ramp.
See my post of Friday, Nov 9 under "Looking for Sauger Fisherman to Partner on Ohio River".
There is a lot of good information of sauger techniques on the web. Run a google search using - fish sauger methods etc. Best of luck and if you are ever in my area, give me a shout and we will go feed minows to the sauger.

Sounds good Doug, aaaahhhh I think we'll have to use your boat lol..And where did Capt.Chip go?? come to think of it I haven't seen him in a long time. Did you and John get out today? ChuckHey Chuck, we need to figure out how to make money at this,,,I guess I need to start guideing again, I stopped a couple of yrs ago when I started my boat repair biz,,,looks like there is a need again now that Chip is gone. I haven`t seen you down there in a while,,,where ya been or have we just missed....LOL
Yea we got down there saturday morning and in a matter of minutes had boats all over us where you couldnt even make a cast.As soon as you would your bait would be under there boat or in there lines. Those idiots can have it for awhile, ill go when its so cold ill be the only fool out there. The first boat had a young boy with them or they would have got an earfull.Oh well if people have no more common courtesy then that i cant change them.Remember fellas watch the water the other guys are fishing if you get in IMO your wrong, just cause there room for your boat doesnt mean theres room for your lines.Wether its right or wrong in my opinion its first come first fish, and i practice what i preach,if someones in a spot i want to fish i go, thats there spot today.I have plenty of other spots to go to and a freezer full of sauger so this weekend there will only be 99 boats instead of a 100.Good luck fellas.Dont want or need the hassle.Im done.

I'm with you John, let the temps get down in the teens and it will be the regulars again...Fri. when I was down there, it reminded me of the scene in 'JAWS' when the reward was offerd to catch the shark and everyone was runnin around like fools...it was funny in the movie ,but scary on the river...Chuck
For sauger I fish a bass tournament. Tie on a crankbait and start slinging. Catch 12-14 inch often. And also if you want catfish a white spinnerbait along lay downs also works. Now if I was targetting either specie I'd be catching bass.
