I had a day like that Wednesday. I just love when you can reach into your tackle box and throw anything at those fish. The secret for me seemed to be whatever I could launch the furthest (and not get hung on the bottom). Ended up using a rattling 6 inch stick-bait that I found at GRL. The hybrids would often have a hold of it before I could even get the slack out of the line. They were all caught on the front hook and one even had the first 2/3 of the stick bait hung up in his mouth like he was swallowing it. Poor thing, that had to hurt!

Well everybody, there are plenty of fish there for us all. Please be courteous and safe on the river.

Thanks for the info and report. I just may want to put some of those "blade baits" in my box. Only problem is, the Ohio river likes to claim anything I put in the water. Lost 9 rigs this past Thursday. But hey, still a great day.

    Gary,
I remove any nickel hooks from my blades and spoons and replace them with wire hooks. Here's the kicker. I use 40-50 lb braided line. Get hung up and MOST of the time the hooks will straighten. Also this is from a boat.

Hate the weather that's comming but LOVE the OH this time of year. Best kept secret.

Thanks for the tip. Think I will put together a couple of rods/tackel just for the Ohio Sauger.

    Good fishing.
