I sent Wolf River an email asking about renting a houseboat in a few months. They replied they were not renting houseboats this year. Anyone know if thats because of low water.
Ps...We were also going to fish.

the water isnt the issue the ownner decided sometime ago to get out of this side of the bussiness,sold his rentals, not implying any financial issue, I think you will find anothr dock on the lake getting out of the houseboat rental buss.
Thanks for the replies. Guess I can look somewhere else for a boat.

You know it looks like there would be money to be made renting the houseboats. I bet their are alot of other expenses I'm not aware of.

Dennis;
I'm not sure what the return on investment is, but there is a HUGE investment. At $150k plus for a new boat to rent, total that up if you have 15 or 20 of them, not to mention the engine, and all the onboard systems maintenance issues that arise. If you listen to the Marine radio during the summer months, the renters run the dock hands crazy with calls for service, and most of it is people just don't know how to operate a HB. All that said , I do still think they manage a nice profit though.
