This picture hurts me. I am one of those who thinks that large mouth and small mouth belong on the sacred fish category and should be fished for sport and released. Except for the occasional fish of a lifetime put it on the wall or a an occasional kentucky for the fryer - I hate to see this many strung along the line.
Of course it is legal, it just hurts me

GARY
Its not working now for some reason. As of 10pm Wed it is at the bottom of www.wbko If it is not there when you check it, go the photo album, click on pets, then go to fish, It is the picture titled Kevin's fish and has 5 or 6 nice largemough bass strung along a barbed wire fence
Just looking at the picture and I would estimate that the 6 bass would have a combine weight around 25 pounds...and what is up with the facial gesture?

I too practice catch and release, but everybody has the right to catch and keep what they want as long as it does not break the law, if you don't think so then your as bad as PETA.
I did say it was legal and everyone does have the right, I just said it hurt me. We need to protect our bass resources for those that come along behing us. I am sure there is a story and reason behind the picture - I was just sharing.
Obviously a touchy subject for alot of people Pastor, but I knew exactly what you meant, I feel the same way.
Thank goodness for B.A.S.S. catch and release practice many years ago!......I hope he ate those fish.![]()
What if those fish came from a farm pond? Do you still have a problem with people eating what they raised? From the background in the picture I would say it is pretty likely that is where they came from.
Other than that, they are fish and will grow back. There is a reason why the state puts a creel and size limit on fish. As long as people follow that fishing should be good.
Say what you want guys but its still a sad picture--I bet there was some good eaten blue gills in that pond if thats where it was-GL to us all![]()
If everybody with a fishing license made it a point to bring home a limit everytime they went bass fishing, though it would be perfectly legal, it would most definitely have an impact on the fishing. The state sets those creel and size limits, but they also count on the fact that there are plenty of catch and release anglers out there...believe that.
I'm a throw-em-back kinda guy for bass. I'll never fault a guy for a legal harvest, but I still think it's majorly important for us to promote catch and release fishing to keep things good in the future.
