1/4 in rubber pad for decks

I`ve got a whole roll of 1/4 inch solid rubber pad that goes under the carpet to make your decks have a little cushion for the guys that stand all day fishing. I`ve installed it under a numberof boats and the people love it. Will not absorb water at all. $1.00 a sq ft. Great for alum boats to quiet them down.

well just guessing your deck is about ,,,what,,6ft wide by 9 ft long,,,your looking at 54bucks for the pad. Then your cost of new carpet. That would run you around 75.00 If you do it yourself. This is just a guess,,your deck may be bigger

can you put this right on the boat itself...on our ranger were the trolling motor lifts up and down it hits the front of the boat and is making marks...just wondering if it was sticky on the bottom of it to install in directly on the boat

It would be perfect, it wont fall apart and you could put in on with a double face tape so it wouldn`t hurt the finish on the boat.

Hey Tiger!Yeah I`m still doing that. Trying to drum up some work since the river will never come down,,,,so if I can`t fish I might as well work..lol But it would quiet down the Polor Kraft alot,,,plus help out with your back and knees since I notice you stand alot fishing.

Re: 1/4 in rubber pad for decks

I'd love to have it done to my boat, but can't see ripping up almost new carpet just yet...I know it'd be a great idea to help me with my bad back and all....It gets old having to stand every second I'm on the water and not being able to sit down, except to drive the big motor to another location on the lake.

But at least I know of a new plan when my carpet does get worn and needs replaced, the new pad will be going into my boat for sure.....

Re: 1/4 in rubber pad for decks

    Doug,
I'm interested is their a pic of what this looks like? I want to put it in my 1448 tracker. I made some wood decks on the front and back and was wondering what it looks like installed. What color is it? Do you glue it down or is it heavy enough to lay on the deck, maybe a staple or two? Thanks
