The son "Lowerider" took the old man down to the Cabelas "King Kat" tourny this weekend at Henderson Ky. We came in 11th place against the Pro's despite having equipment problems with a dead Lowrance depth/GPS unit a blown drag on a big fish with a Garcia etc.
5 fish at 83lb's anchored by a 35# Blue. The winner had almost 200# with 5 fish, (top that you Bass guy's) just kiddin!
This was our first time at this area of the river, it is awesome and I never hear anything reported from there. I will have one of those saltwater belts to stick the rod in the next time, those big cats will put a hurt on you
Guy's this is what happen's when you "Take a kid fishing" when they are young.

How are these large bruts keap alive for weigh-in. No bass boat has a live well large enough to keep 20 - 40 lbs cats alive so they do no harm to each other before weigh-in??? Are they caught, photographed while weighed and then released. I'm obviously not a King Cat fisher just Channel Cat(Eaten size).
Congrats to you and your son on a great River.... More times lie ahead for the two of you in this mad adventure we call fishing each day.....![]()
Chuck, Here are some of the weights turned in.
1st. 196.2# 65.35 Big Fish 2nd. 156.65 60.4 Big Fish 3rd. 138.35 with 2 over 50#. DavidA we use large mostly homemade tanks to hold the fish, they must be alive at the weighin and are then released.
