Sunlight will fade it pretty quick.

I spill this stuff all the time in my boat. Never did any special treatment to it but it does go away in time. Really good excuse to do more fishing. Tell the misses that the barametric pressure that surrounds Paducah, Aurora, Eddyville, and Draffenville this time of year is a natural neutralizer for the stuff. Plus they add chemicals in the local water that will help as well. May just work.

I like your thinking Elnut! LOL. One other thing I failed to mention was the cig burn he left in the carpet. I got a tip for that from another site and it works great. Find a secluded spot in the rod locker, etc and remove a small portion of carpet. Cut that peice to fit the size of the cig burn, place a small amount of super glue on the backing and press it into the cig burn hole. Works great and in the matter of a few minutes you really can't tell unless you know precisely where to look. I think over time you will never be able to find it. I just thought I would pass that along as well.
I have to ask - is he still your New Parnter?
I don't know if I would be sharing the boat with this guy again, at least not in my boat.
I use a large shallow tupperware to use as a dip tray. If it spills it goes in that tray - it has saved several stains this year. I try to dip as much as I can in the garage before I go.
As far as the smoking goes, I am not letting anybody smoke in my boat for that reason you mentioned. Well, there may be one exception - if you are the best guide in the area and are giving me lessons and putting me on fish - smoke all you want.
Coming from a former partner of rangermans...who doesn't smoke on rangerman's boat just chews some Redman... he is particular but not fanatic on his boat... We have discussed on how it is amazing how co-anglers treat the boat, and you can usually tell if they have ever owned a boat or not on how they treat it.
One guy I fished out of his boat and by the end of the weekend he had about 5 big spots of dye and 20 spots of coffee on his front deck.... it was driving me up a wall and it was not even my boat....
Have figured out when fishing with someone new give them a few ground rules ahead of time...dip dye on the side over the side of the boat...when you get into your tackle box put it back up when you are done, keep your crap out of the floor, spray downwind from the boat with sprays, and get the net ready in a tournament.
Guess he has trained me well....Boy Scout out...
He was filling in for my normal partner. As for having a talk, we had a talk alright....I about killed him. I understand accidents happen but my patience was wearing very thin. I am picky about how things are to be conducted in my boat, some may call it being an arse. I just call it taking care of what I have, nothing more.
As for another fishing trip with this guy, trying to keep an open mind as he is a friend of mine. However, I have not heard hide nor hair from this guy since. I would think a call should be in order from him to see if I got the problems taken care of okay. So far that has not been the case.![]()

Aw Marty, its time for a new boat anyway. Now, if I wanna buy your old one, how much you gonna discount it for them discolored seats and burnt carpet????LMAO!!!! I give you $2500.00 and a free oil change... Deal???
I am a smoker, and when fishing as a co-angler, I always ask permission to smoke in someone elses boat. If they say no, its no big deal. I can totally understand that aspect. People pay loads of money for a boat, and if my boat is gonna get scratched/dinged/stained, you better believe I wanna be the one doing it.
Aw man, you wouldn't want this ole peice of junk with the chartruese seats and built in ash tray....... but I will tell you what.... looks like you made a pretty good offer (see above). you add another zero in between the 5 and the next zero, throw in two free oil changes, tire rotation and free air and it's a deal. Sound good? I will drop it off this afternoon.Aw Marty, its time for a new boat anyway.
