Trains - Fuel cells are being developed for mining locomotives since they produce no emissions. An international consortium is developing the world’s largest fuel cell vehicle, a 109 metric-ton, 1 MW locomotive for military and commercial railway applications

Fuel cells are the way to go. And would be great on a boat as no oil in the water. I wish all thought like you Moose. Also nuke, wind and solar for electricity. We have the technology to do this but do not the guts at this time due to the current administration in DC. Seems like profit and greed rule over common sense. We need a change and fast, as people cannot afford to live. We need to band together and do something. as this is INSANE.

Since the Democrats have taken power in Washington the price of gas per gallon has almost doubled. What adminstration are you talking about?

Let us see, the current prez is an oil man, the vp an oil man. I am talking about the whole bunch in Washington. The dems did not raise the price of oil. If you think about it the price of crude has been going up since we started this stupid war against the wrong country. We should have went to war with the Saudies as they had more terroists on the planes than IRAG. All in Washington are to blame for this they let it get out of hand, but Bush and the republicians keep on keeping on with their silly war. I blame the war and Bush/Chaney for the oil prices.

The dems are in the White House and have enough votes in congress to over ride a veto???

Late 70's Carter was warning us that we needed alternative fuel sources. Reagan became prez and cut all of the funding for such projects. Bush I, Clinton, and Bush II did nothing. Guess that makes several administrations that did nothing. In addition, congress has not done enough to pressure the prez to do anything, probably cause the voters have not put enough pressure on congress either. A lot of blame to go around.

I guess I have to ask how they are the cause? The oil man conspiracy theory is weak but I don't make the connection that they are to blame. I know it's easy to blame them or the oil companies but I think it's OPEC and the fact that oil is traded, so many people get rich by handling it. Do you think that if Obama got in the prices would drop? The Democrats run Congress why don't they fix it? They have the power and they said they would once they got in. Well were is the relief? Did Bush and Cheney cause the high prices in Great Britian? Aound the world? I'm not convinced that the war was silly either. We had intelligence saying that the WMD's existed Sadam refused to comply with inspectors and the terrorists were all over the place over there. Mass murders were running rampant throughout the country heck he didn't learn with the war in Kuwait either. All he wanted to do was destroy everything and anything like a baby picking up his ball and going home. The man was a tyrant and that alone doesn't condone war but I believe the world is better off now than when he was alive.
Dude, I totally agree that the politicians have done us wrong because we are not on their priority list, their party in power is #1 on their list. There is plenty of blame for both parties not just the Republicans.

Not sure if this will work. The link is to the MSNBC web site and should pull of a video clip showing one of GM's fuel cell test cars.

The bad news is that at the end the TV host claims that GM may want to price gouge us for the tune of $45,000 for one of these new hybrid vehicles.

how do you know for sure it is a better place?the people over there are now wanting us gone because even though he was a tyrant they say life was better, wmd's does intelligence not have to prove what they find first?that would be like a buddy telling me to kick your tail for something and me doin it witout proof,,but i thought it was war on terror, didn't hear much about that considering taliban was being hunted in afgstan, kinda like going rabbit huntin and killina groundhogg because you saw it first..
as far as the pres and vp,and i'm sure by now many dems too are gaining profit from the oil so why get the price dropped,if you were sellin green beans and had the monoply, you and your family makin bank you wouldn't want the guy down the street start selling and then another because then yours nor theirs will be worth a hill of beans.
we see all the stuff reported from other govs around the world stating how they treat their people, ours is no different, not a sadaam supporter but our gov is killing innoscent people, can't shoot that much with out hitting something innocent so why is george not a terrorist,we go to war to make them live like us??when they really don't care about a democracy...
    i am not a political person,just asking some things i don't understand..
just wondering, since the ethanol push how many in washington do you all think were set up to rake in the gains before it even got started.heard al gore invested a bushel load in it,while pushing the global warming..
the world will end some day, maybe next week,we won't stop it and i doubt we slow down the process,or speed it up,,,and in all the global talks on here no one ever mentions that.is he a dem or repub.?

    Re: Lets Talk Fuel Cells

I guess I'll say I think it's a better place based on the mass murders that he conducted or condoned. His total disregard for human life and anything that got in his way was cruel. Remember how many people assisted in tearing down his "I love me statue"? Look how many members of his Military gave up so quick and were kissing the Americans hands in the Gulf war. As far as wars go I don't remember that kind of defection going on. The guy was a loose cannon but like I said that alone doesn't mean we should go to war with him.
It depends on who you would to listen to over in Iraq when you make your decision on how many people like us or our way of life. I choose to believe that people want freedom and want a choice. I think people are basically all the same and as a parent I would want my kids to have a better life and I don't mean having a playstation 3 or a BMW I mean a quality life with choices. The U.S. is putting a government in place so the (Iraqies?) can have a choice in the future and not live under a vicious leader. Sure some people won't like it but that's life, we are past that.
Questioning our President as a terrorist is a huge mistake and it sounds very political. Remember, it's war over there, people get killed, and mistakes happen. There will always be raping and thefts and abuse because people are people. (Don't think that never happened in any other war even in our own Civil war). If that was the standard then every President, VP and politician in office during a time of war is a terrorist. I don't agree with that at all I know you asked that question but man that's a monster jump in what a terrorist is.
My understanding is that there was evidence of WMD storage facilities and then they found some later on. Why would he keep inspectors out? I would have to research that to be factual but remember both Democrats and Republicans in Congress agreed with the intelligence at one time (not all agreed).
Al Gore investing in a fuel source like that shows how it will fail. That technology is very taxing on our land and resources .I'm sorry but I know I can't back it up but I think the guy was dropped on his head to much as a child. Just because someone comes from money and is educated doesn't make him smart or have common sense. The guy has a platform and he used it...end of story (I hope!)
For the most part you can tell who is Conservative or Liberal with what they post in these discussions. There was a time where you could easily identify the difference but anymore it's tough. To be honest saying Dem or Rep means almost nothing to me, it's just a tag. I am Conservative in my beliefs and in the most basic description I want less Government, benefit from my hard work and not be taxed to death and I want to be as far away from Socialism as possible. I think Liberals want the Government to take care of them and everyone to be equal even when you sit on your fat tush and do nothing. This whole discussion has been beat up and down for months. You can go back and find some great posts on this. HAGD

    Re: Lets Talk Fuel Cells

Yes all our leaders past and present are to blame. We have been warned to seek alteritive fuel sources but it is always blocked by something, special intrest groups like corperations etc run our gov, not the people, like it is supposed to. We as citizens have no voice no more it seems. Our reps only think of themselfs and profit. The State of Ky only gave us employees a 1% raise this year, we have not had a decent raise in over 5 yrs, but the State Legislatiors gvae themselves another 5% this year, and most of them are rich anyway. No Bush and Chaney are not to have all the blame on them, this has taken some time to come to a head, all the administrations could have been doing something a long time ago. If Washington cared then we wouldnt be in this mess. All our politicans and leaders are to blame PERIOD. We as a people need to pull together and quit bickering, judging, and blaming and start fixing. Divided we fail. We are the strongest, richest, most powerful and best country in the world and I love my country, we should be able to come up with a solution to these problems, but it take teamwork and not each party blaming and blocking one another they must work together but they seem to be more interested in playing the political game than working on a solution. Peace to all.
