Re: 10 cent per gallon tax increase on fuel?

    Moose,
You can google the 10 cent gas tax item and while your at it check out Dingle's 50 cent tax as well. It's true. His motives are right up the alley of the Global Warming believers which of course justifies everything....in his dreams.

I hope more auto manufactures do the same bring out the alternative fuel source cars!!

Re: 10 cent per gallon tax increase on fuel?

We also in Ky have a mand gas tax that goes up automatically every so often, do not know how often. But our roads are real bad and basically all our infastucsure is in bad repair, wish I had spellck, tax here tax there tax everywhere and notinhg gets fixed, and with both sides in our state leg fighting and whinning and other bs we cannot get anything done in this state. It is a shame that the last peice of leg that was passed was about licence plates. Our reps are not representing us very well but they keep on getting elected and not from my vote. Seems like some in Ky do not want change that must be why the smae ole same ole get reelected year after year. Go ahead tax me till I am bankrupt, poor and dead, then tax my family after I am dead,to make sure that they cant survive, so the rich can become richer and poor can go without working but the working class carries all the burdens for all. Maybe we should all quite working for a while and see how things go then. Sorty for the rant. I just get fed up with TAX TAX TAX TAX and no returns for my donation.

Point taken. I don't want to see funding (taxes) cut, but raising them isn't necessarily the answer, either. We could probably get our infrastructure back in shape if only we'd spend the money we have more wisely. Like that's gonna happen.

No dont raise the gas tax, when the roads fall apart, and our vechicles are so beaten up by pot holes, that we cany use them, the energy crisis will be solved! Uh what is the major component of asphalt. hmmmm. Why not just use cement?Oh it takes too much energy. Guess were in a pickle here, why not just borrow the money from the chinese?

Re: 10 cent per gallon tax increase on fuel?

Did you hear about the wonderful DNC? They felt above the law and took special pricing given to local city vehicles to the tune of 10K in fuel while in Denver, Colorado since the beginning of the year. They felt that in order to save money for the party that they should not pay the 40 cent per gallon tax of local/federal taxes. Why not? If it helps the local economy why not pay? Since when did they become above every law or tax that exists?
One of their claims is that they had to insure the gas wasn't tainted in the name of safety? Is that a problem? Anywhere? They have been caught and claim that they will pay the back taxes...yeah right!
Remember this is the party that said we cannot have a break on fuel taxes but they can? Source CNN Headline News Channel (Glenn Beck). Look it up...
Wonder if they are going to drive alternative fuel vehicles to the Convention??? I bet the answer is NO! But everyone else should and I bet Al Gore will because he is a man of honor....hhmmm no he won't either he proved that with his last Global Warming speech! This is crazy, do as I say but don't do as I do. Ok all you Liberals go drink that koolaid so you forget what you just read.**smile** hagd

Dj, that kool aid you keep refering to, that was 1978, were you so traumatized by that event or is it a " new" conservative catch phrase? It sounds sort of like government of old people to me!How about "what wuz, wuz, what is , is". If you really want to go back, how about the "glory that was rome", hmmm sounds like "polly want a cracker" talk to me.

Re: 10 cent per gallon tax increase on fuel?

Why OH Why did I look at this page and see the political innuendos concerning our great politicians of Congress, who through no fault of their own, get a vehicle of their choice as well as a unlimited gas card, so they do not have to worry about paying for fuel for their vehicle in order to make it to work, much less to their favorite lake. It really gets my blood boiling when I see a politician make a speech patting him/her self on the back for looking out for me. That is why when election time comes around I never vote for the person that is in office. Should that person not have anyone running against them, I do a write in because they are not going to get my vote. If everyone would do that then the politicos would then know who is in charge and do their job and not running for reelection just as soon as they get sworn in.
Thanks for letting me vent, I feel much better now.

Re: 10 cent per gallon tax increase on fuel?

Dingle's a smart guy. Okeedokey, if you say so.

Congratulations to Jamie Lee Curtis on her new car. Nice to be rich enough to do your part to combat the ever so real global warming threat. Man, do I look up to those good ole down to earth Hollywood stars.

Moose, you sure harp on the rich a lot. What if you hit the lottery, or some unknown benefactor left you a fortune? Would you still vote Barrack even though he'd have the federal government forcibly take your legally obtained money and redistribute it to the masses?

Andrew, if gas taxes have been going toward our infrastructure, why is supposedly in such bad shape? A tax holiday is not a joke to me at all. ANYTIME and I mean anytime the government reduces taxes, such a rare occurrence is no joke.

Fact: If Obama's elected, the Bush tax cuts are a goner, and your, yes YOUR taxes will increase.

Like all Dems, BO says he'll tax the rich instead of you, and you may be gullible enough to believe him. Fact is, the rich are already heavily taxed. Yes there are loopholes, but the loopholes are designed to infuse the money back into the economy.

Ever completed a tax form where your income was higher than the table in the tax book? If not, whip out your beautifully composed federal 1040 book and check out the rates above those in the table. If you don't put your money back into the system (that's capitalist system, there Moose and PL, not the other system that starts with a C) the government will punish you severely.

Re: 10 cent per gallon tax increase on fuel?

    Devils Horse:
Who said that taxes will increase when Obama win the White House? State a source and define who's taxes will increase and who's taxes will decrease

Obama has stated over and over again that he would repeal Bush's Tax cuts so that's true. But lets look at this in depth shall we. Lets tell the WHOLE Truth not just the part that makes someone look good or bad.

The top 2% of wage earners which excludes 98% of most folks will see a tax increase and that means that 98% of the tax payers will see a tax DECREASE!

When the top breadwinners like Bill Gates get taxed more then the rest of get a tax break.

Now are you though naming calling. I resent the fact that you label people with the "C" lable. Perhaps you would rather support the facist? Carniege of Carniege Steel was more a facist type dictator than a American Businessman. He ruled with just as much of an iron hand as Stalin did in the old Soviet Union after WWII.

Remember we fought with the Communist not the Hitler's Facist NAZI party.
The Russians lost a lot more men during that War than the USA did. We would not have won WWII without the Russians doing most of the land fighting between 1943 and 1945. We didn't land in Normandy until after the Battle of Kursk. But I'd bet you never heard much about that tank battle?

When Bush cut the riches taxes they in fact made everyone else's taxes go up! Someone has to pay for Bush's war in Iraq and you can bet it's not the Iraqis. Our kids have to pay that debt off. That's a tax increase!

The top 2 % of tax payers have enough money to easily pay these tax. Those that earn less than $250,000 (quarter of a million dollars) a year will see a tax break. These are the folks that can use the tax break the most.

Giving 98% fo the folks a tax break will increase their spendable income and increase demand for goods and service. Trickle up works.

When the demand for a product or service is there you can be sure someone with money will build a product that can meet the new demand or they will start a service that can fullfill the new demand.
