Illegal Immigrants and the Selective Service

FYI...Think of the millions of immigrant men that come into the USA illegally who might want to serve (or not) or get an education through the Armed Forces. Once they get into the system they can be a part of our country and not just reap the benefits of all this country has fought for, specifically freedom.

In addition, they will have to sign up like all legal american men (they are required now but that ain't gonna happen) when they come of age (18) for the selective service. According to the laws anyone applying for student loans and federals grants plus some other programs will need to be registered. Not sure if getting a Drivers License is a way of getting men registered.

Why would they. Coming to the U.S. for most of them is to get what they can and go back and live comfortably at home. There is no thoughts as far as what they can do for the U.S.A. They have already recieved in alot of ways whatever they have demanded. Why should they stick their neck out. It would save the U.S. millions in transport fuel cost alone if they were in the military. Could you imagine how many more of these folks you could fit into APC. If you can get 15 of them in a mini van, just imagine. lol

And they could pay for the child support for the babys they leave behind, and repay the food stamp program and medical programs. But the only thing they love about this country is that we are not doing enough to stop them from coming here, they are really hurting or economy by not paying taxes etc.If they want citizenship then they should be required to serve in our military. I also had to reg at 18. They have more rights than citizens at this time and nothing is being done or said about this. Something has to be done, homeland security what a joke and the border patrol ads. Some of these illegals have ties to organized crime and waring factions from Central and South America. Question Should they be considered terror suspects? The drug problems have increased steadly and so has violent crime. We are losing our country and no one seems to care.

If they try to close the borders then the liberals and ACLU and haven knows who else will get everything tied up in the courts. The media will show some guy working to take care of his family and put a one sided picture on it and then we are wrong for wanting to keep our country safe.

I have a cousin that works for INS and he said that they are so undermanned they would need to hire an army of people to do the job correctly. But with gov. cut backs they have to do more with less (like everyone else) and there are just not enough people to do the job.

Sad but, our security, health care and education are limited because we are spending so much on the people who are not citizens. Take care of us first and then worry about others. It may seem a little cruel but #1 comes first. If you don't like it move over there and help them yourself. Ryan

I almost forgot why should we have to learn Spanish? Learn English or get out. I was watching a cartoon with my daughter called Handy Manny, they use quite a bit of Spanish in the cartoon. I don't think that is right.

I really don't have a problem with Immigrants because we all came from them. I like the idea of all Immigrants being legal tax paying citizens so they actually pay their own way just like you and I.
Learning Spanish is an option and should never be Mandatory but I would say that it's a good idea to pick up some of the language since it will come in handy...I assure you.
Bobby and Ryan...I bet you guys first hand accounts of the trouble we are really in with this problem.

Yes all of us were immigrants at one time, but the immigrants in the past learned our language, lived by our laws, took care of their families, feverently wanted to become citizens of this great country, went to college, raised their families to become hard working, tax paying citizens. Immigrants now want everything handed to them, free money, free medical care, free food, and all the time smuggling drugs, raping, killing, the list goes on and on. I am not saying they are all like that, but with the estimated 25 million illegals here, if only 20% are bad, thats 5 million criminals in this country walking around scott free daily, while we the middle class takes care of their sorry @#@@#. Look at the fuel, food, jobs that they are taking away from the people that do want to work. The whole time this goes on the liberals are loving every minute of it. I went to arizona for training, and they have a thing there called anchor babies, basically a illegal immigrant waits until they are ready to give birth, crossed the border, has baby, baby is citizen, gets immediate welfare, and the parents live comfortably, and the democrats have another voter. The boiling pot so to speak is full, and running over, its time to put up fences, if you want to come over, fine, serve in the military for 4 years, learn the language, the laws, and fight if necessary for the country, and pay your taxes. If you last 4 years without getting into trouble, you deserve to become a citizen of these great united states, if not you go back to where you came, and you arent welcome back. Sorry for the rant, its just getting pitiful in this country, and just think my father fought two wars for this country, served 24 years in the military, and when he died, they sent 1 guy to the funeral with a tape recorder to play taps, makes you proud.

I think we should make it very simple, easy and free to become a citizen if someone wants to. That would eliminate the problem of them being called "illegal" and we could start dealing with the real issues. I respect people who want to come here and work hard at jobs that aren't much fun. There are a lot of so-called Americans that could learn lessons from them.

Man I'm sorry to hear that about your dad's funeral. That does seem pretty bad after all he gave.

I pulled duty as one of the guns at funerals several times and hearing Taps plus being a part of the 21 gun salute made you proud to be there. The families felt it as well. We did this while I was stationed at Fort Hood Texas and we always went to Waco for the duty.

I had to meet with a Principal in one of our schools last year in a heavily Spanish populated area. While waiting in the office/reception area, there were three ladies working and answering the phones. In probably 15-20 phone calls in a matter of 15 mins, I never heard the first word spoken in English.
If these children and their parents do not learn the English language in our schools where are they going to learn it. As time goes by and legal American citizens have to learn Spanish to communicate in this country, Then who really has the upper hand. It's funny though. I have talked to people who have gone to Mexico on vacation and they say they have no problem finding plenty of english speaking people there and communicating is no problem.
My brother in law was having a new roof installed and came home from work to find eight Mexicans on his roof. The first thing he noticed was that the wrong shingles were being used and asked who spoke english! At this point none did, so he made them get off his roof and leave.Then he called the contracter he had contracted the job with and explained the situation of the wrong materials and no one he could communicate with. So the next day the same crew showed up and it was a miricle. Over night five of the eight Mexicans could speak proper english. At this point a second phone call was made for the contracter to remove his materials and his Mexicans from the property. See... My brother in law don't like to be lied to either.

Yes DJD I see a lot, also wishin we have plenty of ANCOR BABIES here in Ky, and more each day, the illegals have the fastest growing birth rate in this co, also ZX, it is not right to make our children learn another language to acomdate this population of immigrets. You cannot go into a store anymore and get anything that does not have spanish on it. They should be made to learn our lang, if not for commucating but out of respect for us legal citizens, my GGG grandfather had to learn english whne he LEGALLY came here in the 1800's from Germany/ Dutcheland. This is a vilotion of OUR civil rights as LEGAL TAXPAYING WORKING CLASS CITIZENS. The laws for the illegals are discrimating towards citizens and yes it really irkes me that my employer does not care to stop this. What can be done? I am so tired of protecting some of these CRIMINALS they are, as they have entered this country illegally, which is a crime, ZX mine and your jobs are getting tougher due to this and the general public dont know have the truth about this as we as workers cannot violate their civil rights???? and report them. I totally agree with Know1 here. I know the spanish speaking students I have worked with in the past are the best students in the class. They are thrilled to have the opportunity for a quality education. I don't see how it can be considered a bad thing to learn another language.
