I remember you mentioning this. Was all incidences at Walls ramp? Due to the high water I didn't fish Walls or Kings this spring.I must admit, I had pretty much given up on Patoka after having my truck HIT by thieves 2 times in 1 year and 1 time last year.........
I may start going again, especially since it is SO close to me.
It is nice to hear that "MY MAN MITCH" has done a GREAT job for hunting and fishing in Indiana. If he keeps it up........he might be on a ticket in 2012...........who knows.

All you need to know about Patoka . http://www.in.gov/dnr/parklake/6741.htm thank god for the internet .
The one thing about the fisherman's campground is that the launch ramp may still be under water or the water could be so high as to make launching a boat difficult.
Since we have had all this rain Patoka Lake has been on the high side all summer and all spring long.
I talked with a friend who fish's Patoka Lake almost every weekend and he told me that the water was still pretty high. He likes to launch from the Fisherman's camp ground launch ramp but he said he could not launch out of there all spring due to the high water levels.
The launch ramp there is fairly shallow and the parking lot was full of water this spring.
Check the Corp of Engineers web site and see were the water level is for Patoka Lake.
I think it's still a few feet over summer pool.
The camp ground is primitive .. ie no electrical sources. I would think that there is a water fountain in there somewhere.
But even the Modern Camp ground at Newton Stewart does not have a water faucet for each camp site. You have to share the water faucet with three or four other camp sites. Lincoln State Park is better as there is a water faucet for each and every camp site. The State of IN skimped when they built the camp ground at Patoka Lake. They should have a water faucet for each and every camp site.
Now they do have 20 amp service at each camp site at Patoka's Newton Stewart.
You can camp a the fisherman's camp ground and run over to the ramp at the marina in Lick Fork and launch there if the camp ground launch ramp is still flooded. Might call the lake information to find out the conditions of the fisherman's camp ground launch ramp before you head to the lake.

The lake is only up about 2 ft. I can't imagine that would close the ramp.
Yes the ramps are now in good shape.
I'm starting to get stuff together for the trip. Hopefully my tube will be good there. I've had some decent luck with it at johnson county park. I tried to launch at eagle creek yesterday but the wind was just too much.

Has anyone ever rented one of the Floating Cabins on Patoka? Looking to adventure over to Good Ole Indiana and do a little camping with the family or rent one of the Cabins on the lake. Any input would be nice if you've done this at Patoka.
