Not being a waterfowl hunter myself I have what might be a stupid question. What is special about shooting a banded duck or goose? Is there a way to find where they came from or something? I was just curious because I have seen waterfowl hunters wearing lots of bands on a necklace and have never asked what it was all about.

A Band is just as GOOD as a big buck to a waterfowl hunter eH

Ya just call it in to find out where it came from .
