Hey guys-
I was wondering if anybody has been fishing with success at Barren River lately? I'm looking for crappie or Bass. I had heard some good limits of crappies were starting to come out of there recently? Does anybody know where to go on Barren to get into crappies and bass this time of year? Not looking to take people's honey holes...just some general ideas and tactics. I always thought they called it "Barren" because everytime I fish it, that's how I find it! HELP! Thanks!

Thanks for the input guys. I appreciate it. I'll report back if I get to go soon.
I have not been on Barren in a few weeks, but when I was there last the crappie bite had slowed from what it was in September. It may be picking back up now. Two weeks ago I was catching crappie on brush in 10-17ft. of water. Just one here and there, but was all nice crappie. Sometimes a front passing through or the lake may be slightly turning over in one area or the next may have slowed them for a day or two, but no doubt it will pick back up. Try fishing any brush or fallen trees on channel bluffs, its a good time to do this when they are pulling the lake hard. Good Luck.Hey guys-
