First FnF Trip of the Season

My brother and I had a couple of hours to kill, so we decided to break out the FnF equipment and try to remember how to fish it. Went to Herrington. We each had a short LM on all the way to the boat on the fly and lost them. Fished for a bit over 2 hours. We had fun.

We know. We are just anxious.

We did have several pull downs in 2 hours and did have two bass on so it definitely wasn't a complete waste. Water temp was 64.

My question is, did you whiz one by your ear? I'm alway good for cracking myself in the back of the head on that first FnF trip. As long as you have clear water and suspended fish you can coax them into hitting the fly.

Not necessarily Mr Hall.....Mr Guru catches them in 60+degree water. That's Stephen Headrick...Sometimes it's all about the want to, and some folks just want to.

Nah...I managed to avoid that. I don't seem to have much problem with the casting. It's the setting the hook that I struggle with.

BTW, my brother says his fish wasn't that short, but then again we didn't get it as close to the boat to tell!

If we can ever get some water in a creek around here, it'll be time for the fly. These creeks are already in the 50-s

I know Billy I was just messing with him. I told ole Chuck the other day we were fishing that a fella aught to do what makes him happy regardless of what anybody else thinks. Me and Michael like gigging each other ever once and awhile, lol.

After this week, water temps might be close to the 50s.

Re: First FnF Trip of the Season

Take me, Take me, I want to go on my first FNF trip of the season. Somebody hook up the boat and pick me up out front of UK Hospital. If you don't have a boat then stop by Georgetown and my wife will leave the Explorer keys and boat keys under the mat and hook up mine and bring it with you. Look in my FNF cabinet in the basement and get all my gear, yes I am obsessed with the fly that all my stuff goes in one particular cabinet at the end of the season just waiting for the next one to begin. I will be easy to find just look for the guy in the hospital gown out front of UK Hospital with the pick line in his right arm and the smile from ear to ear. I will be out front in 15 minutes, think that is enough time for you to get here?

I thought I saw a request yesterday from Room 539 for Hospital Administration to stock smallmouth in the hospital fountain.
