I heard a couple of bass boats collided in the fog during the take off of the Bullit tournament out of Conley Bottom. That's all I heard though, I hope nobody was hurt. Anybody got any info?

In regards to Loomis55 comments regarding this accident. I 100% agree. One must have accurate information to properly address this issue regarding this matter, therefore I will give this accurate information at this at this time. I would 1st of all like to address everyone here by saying this. The individual, who was injured was flown to the University of Kentucky after the accident is very sore and somewhat uncomfortable,as to be expected after enduring a very dangerous situation. I will say hoever, he is doing fine.and will be released this afternoon Sunday Nov 2nd,to return home to have some much needed rest. I spoke with him this morning and assured him that everyone who attended this tournament was concerned about his condition and well being. He was in good spirits and I will be making arrangements to visit him in the coming weeks. I enjoyed our talk this morning and the prayers of many were answered in this very unfortunate situation. I would also like to say that the other individuals involved in the accident are all doing fine as well. I would also like to address a few of the fishermen of whom attended to this situation 1st hand on the Lake Saturday morning. I would like to thank Bill Smith and Partner, Steven Pyle and Luke Marble for their quick thinking, level heads and their strong will, to make this situation one that we can talk about instead of one we would be grieving over for a lifetime. We should all be very proud and very thankful to these people. Also like to take a moment to thank the EMT's that were very quick to address this situation. To address the tournament take off. The original departure time for the tournament was to be held at 7:00 a.m. We chose not to let the fishermen leave Conley Bottom due to sporatic fog conditions near the Marina. The boats did leave at 8:30 a.m. after a 1.5 hour delay. The Marina area was acceptable to leave in the existing condition at 8:30 a.m. I, as well as many others had no problem with vision and navigation from Conley Bottom on Saturday morning. Other areas of the Lake may have had an issue with patches of fog from what information I recieved from the White Oak area of Lake Cumberland. This is a very large Lake with a diverse lay in land as you all know. Fog can lay in particular places on this Lake for longer times than others. I,myself have witnessed fog lifting at late as 11:30 a.m in the Fall Months. In conclusion, I would like to thank God for watching over this matter and taking this into your hands. We are all truly blessed. I sincerely appreciate your time today. John
Our thoughts and prayers to all involved, hate it when one of our boating family is injured doing what we all love to do!!!

i think that was one if worse fogs i have seen in a while on the BIG C! it was very dangerous. it was weird hearing boats going by you and you couldnt see them just hear them blasting by you and hitting there waves i was scared to death there was going to be a boat in front of me shut down or a boat blast right over us. i was kinda shocked we got sent with them conditions but we laid back til around 9.
Dayum....I didn't mean to open a can of worms, I was just wordering what happened. I guess there's more than meets the eye. I still don't know if anybody was hurt, I sure hope not. I've navagated big C. a lot in the fog, and it takes a careful approach. When it's bad, there is very little room for error. Reguardless of what tourney officials say, NEVER drop the hammer if you can't see where you're going. Is first cast on your favorite spot worth all that????
