Boys and Girls if I did not have to be at work TODAY, Tuesday January 27th, what a day to be on the Holler. Overcast, no sun, snow, sleet, rain are you kidding me, the big girls will practically jump in the boat on a day like today. With it being Tuesday you can launch and leave you truck and trailer on the ramp with your trailer in the water for there will not be any competition for parking spots or fishing spots. Some of my best days have been when we loaded her up after a day like today with 2-4 inches of snow in the boat or she was iced over so bad every rod locker in the boat would not open. Sure do wish I was on Dale for I would have launched about 10 minutes ago and been sitting on NUMBER 1 HONEY HOLE (Mark, Cliff, Mike, John you all know the one, yes that one) and surely been in hand to hand combat with a 5 pounder plus by now, stripping a layer of clothes after the struggle and a little Smallie Smooching for it gets warmer by the 5 pounder. Catch 6-7 of these a day and you are down to your socks and boots by days end (just a little visual there so you all can stop laughing now for I know you are picturing me, my big behind, my deep V, with my wool socks above my Cabella boots putting her back on the trailer at the end of the day, sunburn from one end to the other). Somebody let me hit the powerball tomorrow night so I can move and fish the Holler all the time, especially on days like today. Elnut
If you was on that ramp today you would have more than the boat in the water. They have about 1 inch plus of ice on everything down there right now. You, your truck, your boat, your trailer and whom ever was with you would be in the drink if you tried backing down that ramp right now. Southern Ky has had a heck of an ice storm from what they are saying.

oh to be on dale hollow today would be just about as good as it could get....
Ok guys I love to see the passion but Guntersville in April sounds much more enticing to me.
Was down at Rough and Nolin looking at property and both had lots of ice around the two or three ramps that drove past.
Come on now Mark, what is a little water covering the hood of my Explorer going to hurt. Plus, when all 4 wheels are under water that part of the ramp will not be frozen. Reminds me of another winter fishing tip, back your trailer down the ramp in NEUTRAL and let gravity get you there. Much easier to get into Drive if there is Ice and you are sliding from N instead of Reverse. If you was on that ramp today you would have more than the boat in the water. They have about 1 inch plus of ice on everything down there right now. Never been to Guntersville so if it HAS to be April then it is Ky and Barkley for me. Even Buzzking will come out and play then in his shorts, flip flops and muscle shirts but for me and my passion it is days like today at the Holler.
Muscle shirts, flip flops, awe naw not a pretty boy, lol.
thats better than a speedo and flip flops aint it...
