I was in berea last night and no one and i do mean no one had power. even my ol faithful walmart was shut down. said it may be at least friday before they open back up. i live just a few miles before you get into madison county and fortunately for us we only lost power for a few hours on tuesday. makes you appreciate the modern conviences that we have today. on the other hand man have i got a mes to clean up around here. i'll be packing broken pine trees for a month. hey anyone need to sink some trees for cover lol. i gots a plenty.
Where I live in Illinois we had 11 inches of snowbit that is better than Ice Someplaces got hit hard in Kentucky and Arkansas lot of people with out electric. I do not like snow but will take it over ice anytime. Come on global warming.
Here off the Gene Snyder Freeway south of Louisville. We got about 4 to 6" of snow and about 1/2 of ice mixed in it. My evergreen trees in my back yard are normally about 15' to 17' tall and they are double over from the weight of the ice and snow. I sure hope they don't break in to. I invested a lot of money in them for them to break... School have been closed from Tues. through Fri. Now the kids will have an additional 4 days added to the end of the school year.
Everyone be safe and don't do too much outside.....
State of emergency here in Owensboro (daviess co.). No power to about 3/4 of the population (including me). Kenergy says it might be 2-3 weeks before power is fully restored. Crappy situation to say the least. I have been coming into work since it started to scape snow and ice so the students on campus can get to the cafeteria. I just want to see some sun so the melting will commence. Wish us luck.

Lost power Wed at 3:15 PM: Lit the kerosene lanterns when dark fell. Reheated a big pot of vegetable stew on the basement wood stove.
Turned on the battery powered radio to listen to the Cards game while reading a book about President Lincoln "Team of Rivals" by lantern light and sitting close to the living room Buck stove.
Power restored at 8:30 PM. My 5+ hours of no power was enough pioneering for me.
Here in indy no loss of power, roads a pretty much cleared today. 13 inches of snow! The 6th worse snow storm in Indianapolis history. I've been shoveling the drive all day, my back is blown!!! I thought we had global warming?? r ........no one mentions the fact that last year was one of the coldest years we've had. Outside of Indy not sure............
I can't believe someone would do that. I have mine on my deck as far away from the house as possible. This thing is LOUD. Didn't get any sleep last night.
