I use the wide gap finesse for most of my wacky rigs. Use to use regular straight shank hooks and it worked but I like it this way better.

When wacky rigging I use a gamakatsu octpus hook, question is does anybody use a regular bait holder hook and if so does it work just as well, looking for more bang for the buck if it is possible, there is a time and place for each hook just trying to cheat some.

Don, we need to go fishing together, it sounds like we use the same set-ups for everything. I love the wide gap finesse hooks for wacky rigging.
1/0 wide gap finnese hook is all i've ever used. Although i had to learn the hard way that their is no setting the hook, just lift.
Heres another question do you guys use the black rings basspro sells I do but I only get usually only 3 fish off of one bait. Just looking to try new things this year.
I'm with ya there. We would have to mark some rods/reels with black marker to keep them identified............lets do yours! LOL..
Hope things are getting better over there for ya.
not sure what black rings your talking about?
You can use o-rings from Home Depot or Lowes. You will find all different sizes in the plumbing department and a pack will be cheaper then the mark up with that little tool that you don't need. Just find the size that will fit the worm of your choice and roll it on there.
I use the 5/16 size to wacky rig 5 inch Senkos and it works pretty good.
i'm going to start dropshotting this year and bought some of those hooks. I never fished the drop shot rig before. what do you have to do different with those style of hooks.
The 1/0 finesse wgap hook is small and if your wacky rigging or dropshotting just start realing and pull upward, but don't pull hard and set the hook like a texas rig , you'll snap your line everytime.
