I am going down to Dale Hollow the week after next and want to hire a guide. I'm not interested in float n fly fishing. Any suggestions?

Contact Bobby Gentry thru Punisher Lure at Dale Hollow One Stop, he is a great guy and and he knows Dale, and will put you on some nice smallies and green fish.
Randall Gibson. you can do live bait or artificial, it's your choice. Fred McClintock also but he books way out in advance. Also Steven Headrick is very good.
Randall Gibson - Good honest guide who will work his tail off finding fish, shares everything he knows, etc.

Thanks for the input. I'll contact a few of guys and see who has an opening.
I would contact Stephen Headrick at 931-243-2636. Tell him Robbie said hello. If he can't take you he'll know someone who can. Let us know how you do and good luck.
Eric,
Andrew Robertson and Stephen Headrick are not guiding right now. I would give Keith Palmiero http://www.smalljaw.com/smallychaser.html or any of the guides listed on http://www.smalljaw.com/.
Another one mentioned that I've heard great things about it Bobby Gentry. Either way, you need to give them a call. See if they are open and talk to them about the type of trip you want to have. Right now is the perfect time to learn FNF and then Keith can set you up for several techniques that will be working well into May. Jerkbait, floating worm, grub, jig, crankbait, etc. There are a lot of great guides out there, but one thing that Keith has shown is that he understands the forage better than most anyone I have met.
Dave Stewart is his equivalent on KY lake. That is the real key to locating and staying on the fish.
See you on the water,
Mark
Give Fred McClintock a call. I fished with Fred several times and he taught me alot. He dont mind telling you if your doing something wrong. So if you are the kind of person that gets mad easy, then Fred is NOT for you!!! He can be reached pretty easy on the web.
