Hey guys, just got off the phone with Doug and he is doing well. He sounds like he is bored out of his mind because he can't drive or much of anything. He hasn't been online in a couple of days because his computer is upstairs and he is only supposed to climb the stairs once a day. He did say he might get on here tonight. He has company right now and I think I am going to ride up the hill and see him a tomorrow. He still plans on hitting Dale Hollow the end of April.

Hi Guys, thanks for thinking about me. I`m doing ok, getting alittle stronger everyday. I`m going to start walking today, take my labs with me, cause they are getting too fat just laying around here. I`ve lost about 15lbs and could stand to lose alittle more,,,haven`t touched a cig in over 2 weeks now. Thats the hardest thing I`ve had to do. I just got to keep remembering that if I start back to smoking it`ll cut 2-5 yrs off what I got left in my life. I can catch alot of fish in 5 yrs.
The main proplem I have had is being depressed. I was depressed about my work before I had surgery, due to people just wasn`t putting out any money on their boats. Well guess what,,,LOL the day I got home people have been calling wanting to have their boats worked on. I`ve had to pass on 8 nice jobs,,,figures! But I ask nicely if they could wait 4-6 weeks so I could get to them when I get the doc to release me. Might even before.

But anyway, I`m doing ok. I`ll be out there with you all pretty soon, about the time they start bedding I`ll be ready,,,,hmmm just wondering how having my chest split will affect my fly fishing this yrs,,better start working my arm and get my chest ready for the big bluegill.

Oh and just 1 morething,,,,I`ll never clean another fish,,,I know now what it feels like to be gutted like a fish!

Sounds like you are making some great choices. I still need to get over to see you about my carpet. Promarine Services has been trying to fix my lower unit for almost 2 years now. Kudos to them...they keep trying and when they're done, I'll be coming to see you.

Hey Doug,
Just a note to let you know, you need to be sure to cover your face when out walking with the labs to keep the cold air out of your lungs...will cause you some severe chest pains. I know, had open heart 3 years ago ( 5 bypasses, valve repair, resection of both ventricles). I got home from the hospital and within a week I was walking in the hallway doing three flights of 7 steps each twice a day and after about a month they started me in cardia rehab 3 days a week. I do a workout 4 days a week to keep up the strength...Some bad days along the way, but if you are able to rise and shine it is a good day...Keep a bright outlook and look forward to fishing...the chest popping will stop in about 6 to 8 weeks..Hang in there

Good to hear Doug, The river is still slow but like you said will be pickin up soon. Hope you and John are both feelin better. Got to get both you boy's in shape never know when them pontooners are gonna come up and try to muscle in on our spots.lol All kidding aside glad your feelin better and hope for a speedy recovery...miss you man. Glad your doing better Doug, hang in there and keep a positive attitude, and do what the docs tell you. Glad you quit smoking, that will help you more than you know. Hang in there, and get better. Bob
