what is a good line and what is everyone using

It all depends on what kind of fishing you're doing (crankbaits, jigs, plastics, topwater, etc.). I personally only use mono when fishing topwaters, and some crankbaits. I like Trilene Maxx, Trilene XL, and Trilene XT as good all-around mono. If you're looking for a good value, you can't beat Bass Pro Excel mono. Hope that might start you on the right path.......

For what??

NOT being "smart" but we need to know what type fishing you do in order to give advice........

For example we use Stren, Trilene, Flouro, fireline (and probably some others depending on what we're doing).....

And even then we "might" use a flouro leader on any of them.......sounds "complicated" but not really it's about what YOU are trying to accomplish in any given situation.....hope that makes sense (and YES line DOES matter IMO)

No better line out there than USA Made Ande Mono. More IGFA Records than all other lines combined. Doesn't matter at all what type of fishing your doing, they have a proven line (mono or flouro) for all of it.

I fish an all around would use the line on my baitcasters for worms,jigs,crankbaits,spinnerbaits. Just an all around line I have been using 12 lbs. trilene xl

i have always used berkley XL and BPS excel. for a all around line those are the ones i like the best.

I have used only Sufix Mono since it became more readily available 3 years ago. I won't be switching lines any time soon either, i love the stuff.

thanks guys I have suffix on my heavier jig pole. I think I am going to give it a try this year on my lighter stuff.

I used P line, trilene maxx, and trilene xl cannot beat these products, check for knotability and check to see it has an abrassion coating on it. I always open the box and tie a knot in the store and see if it breaks easy before i buy it.

I also like the Triline XL, Fireline is great to, especially after you break it in. What kind of knots you fellas tie those leaders on with? I usually use blood-knots but sometimes it catches on my guides and it hurts my cast, how do you all usually do it?

i like to use p-line myself. and stren clear/blue is not bad either. but on all my reels now are some sort of p-line.

Uni-knots, and trim the tag ends. Its a really easy knot to tie and it holds up like a champ. If you tie it correctly, you won't lose much distance on your casting. If you look up instructions on how to tie it, the directions make it look messy, and the first time you tie it IT WILL BE MESSY. When you tie it right, YOU WILL KNOW IT! When you get used to tying it, it will be a cinch to tie on a leader.
