Funny story, I was going to throw it back but ROSS wanted a pic of it NO, so he could send it to his friends in Iowa and tell them he caught it, so I made him pack it to the truck and then back to the river after the pic's.....I think he slept good that night.lol And the shad were no problem, they where everywhere..Chuck

Nice! I didn't realize that catfish can be caught this early but I don't know diddly squat about it anyway.
I'm gonna make a trip of two this year to try and get one bigger than last year.

Don they will slow a bit in the winter like any fish, but they never quit biting it's a year round fishery.

Don, I haven't heard or seen John or Doug on the river in a while. I've been wanting to get Doug out after his surgery, I know he's going stircrazy sittin around the house. I'll have to give them a shout and see what's up, the rivers going to get good here soon. When you going to make another road trip to the falls??? Chuck

    Chuck,
I got in touch with John and all is well. He is as busy as a one armed paper hanger right now. I was telling him that I'm gonna make some time starting in May to head on over. I'm looking forward to trying my luck at those cats again. I'll keep you informed on what day/night we are gonna try so we can surround some of those monsters!

Just seeing this and also was wondering about John. I mentioned this to another fishin.com'er the other day that he hadn't posted in quite a spell. I'm glad all is good. Yea Don you, John, Chuck and myself will lay the smack down on one of them LARGE whiskered rascals, and maybe a hybrid or three also. Chuck always lets me catch a few hybids first so I can settle down and jack a Cat's jaw, lol.

Heck yeah I would like to catch a Hybrid or two myself. That day we went I'm not so sure I would have wanted to get to close to the release water...it was moving!
